This event is only open to NECC members.
Since September 2012, schools have been legally responsible for securing access to independent and impartial careers guidance for all of their students in years 9 to 11. In September 2013, OFSTED published the survey 'Going in the right direction?' found that only 1 in 5 schools were effective in ensuring that all of its year 9 – 11 students were receiving the level of information, advice and guidance they need to support decision making. The survey went on to describe that links between careers guidance and local employment opportunities were weak, with too few schools using partnerships with local employers, LEPs and other organisations.
NECC recognises the importance of facilitating links between education and the wider business community. As such, we deliver 'Linking Education with Business' events with the aim of bringing leaders from both sectors together. Our overall objective is to facilitate leaders from both sectors in linking up to form sustainable partnerships which will ultimately deliver higher quality careers guidance for students and a better prepared future workforce for employers.
These events are a great opportunity to networking with other businesses and educational institutions and are well attended by NECC members of all grades who are interested working together and hearing best practice from organisations within business and education who engage well together.
